Lee Evans boards Roundabout cast
Florence and Dougal in the forthcoming Magic Roundabout movie
Singer Robbie Williams will voice Dougal in the film adaptation.
Comic and star of West End hit The Producers, Lee Evans is to join the new film version of children's classic The Magic Roundabout.

Evans is to voice a new character, the "plucky and courageous" Train.

Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Sir Ian McKellen and Bill Nighy also help voice the movie, as do Jim Broadbent, Joanna Lumley and Tom Baker.

The film is set for release in February 2005. The original series was created for French TV in the mid-1960s.

"It's really exciting to be involved in this project," said Evans, 40, who has previously starred in the big screen comedies There's Something About Mary and Mouse Hunt.

"The Magic Roundabout has become something of a national treasure. Now we can pass this on to the next generation to enjoy."
