Irish broadcaster Terry Wogan has said he is "surprised and delighted" to be awarded an honorary knighthood in the Queen's birthday honours. The former TV chat show host boasts the biggest radio audience with his breakfast show on BBC Radio 2.
He is also famed for his wry commentary at the Eurovision Song Contest. But he will not be called Sir Terry because he is not a British citizen.
Wogan joins the likes of Bill Gates and Bob Geldof to have gained the honour.
