Shark Tale features the aquatic mafia
Animated under-the-sea Shark Tale has maintained its spot at the top of the UK and Ireland box office, taking �3.2m in its second week.

Two new entries took second and third spot - Alien Vs Predator grossed just under �2m, while a remake of 1960s classic Alfie took �1.3m.

The Princess Diaries 2, released in Scotland only last week, made number four on its general release.

Shark Tale, featuring the voice of Will Smith, has made �12.4m to date.

Damien O'Donnell's Inside I'm Dancing, which has caused controversy because it uses able-bodied actors to play disabled characters, dropped from number 10 to 14.

Five Children and It, which also came out in Scotland only last week, entered the top 10 in ninth spot after going on general release at the weekend.

The film, adapted from E Nesbit's children's novel of the same name, has a cast including Kenneth Branagh, Zoe Wanamaker, Sir Norman Wisdom and Eddie Izzard.

It also features child actor Freddie Highmore, who stars in the forthcoming JM Barrie biopic, Finding Neverland.
