Animated sequel Shrek 2, featuring the voice of Mike Myers, has gone straight to the top of the UK box office, making �16.2m in its opening weekend. Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban slipped to number two, after three weeks at number one.
The only other new entry in the top 10 was horror film Godsend, starring Robert De Niro and Greg Kinnear.
Shrek 2 has already become the highest-grossing animated film of all-time in the US and Canada.

Teen star Lindsay Lohan's film Mean Girls slipped to third at the box office, while disaster movie, The Day After Tomorrow, also dropped a place to number four.
Wolfgang Petersen's Homeric epic Troy hung on at number eight, having spent eight weeks in the chart.
New entry Highwaymen, starring Jim Caviezel of The Passion of the Christ fame, just missed the top 10 entering the UK box office charts at number 11.
