Mr Jones appeared in Ferris Bueller's Day Off |
US movie actor Jeffrey Jones has been charged with failing to register as a sex offender at his home in Florida. Mr Jones, 57, who starred as the head teacher in 1980s teen comedy Ferris Bueller's Day Off, was placed on a sex offender register in July last year.
He had pleaded no contest to a charge of employing a 14-year-old boy to pose for sexually explicit photos.
Officials said Mr Jones registered the address he was at last year, but moved in March without registering again.
Sex offenders must notify officials within 48 hours of a move.
On Thursday, the authorities in Sarasota, Florida, arrested Mr Jones and charged him with failing to register as a sex offender. He was later released on $1,000 (550) bail, according to police records.
Last year he was sentenced to five years' probation, ordered to register as a sex offender and undergo counselling.
At the time he apologised for the incident, and said: "Such an event has never happened before and it will never happen again."
Best known for playing the harassed Principal Rooney in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, he has also appeared in Amadeus, Sleepy Hollow and Dr Doolittle.
