Geri was among the stars appearing at London's Party in the Park concert in aid of the Prince's Trust charity for young people held at Hyde Park. Showing off her new gypsy look with permed hair and bare feet, she avoided any mention of the showbiz wedding of the year. She sauntered onto the stage under a pink umbrella as the heavens opened, but even the pouring rain could not dampen her spirits. 'Missed me?'
"Have you missed me?" she asked the 100,000-strong crowd. "I just want to be loved." Then as the crowd roared their appreciation, she replied: "You know how to make a girl feel wanted." During one song, Geri was surrounded by six bare-chested male dancers wearing wigs and purple and red feather boas. After her performance, she waved goodbye and said: "See you lot, love you, bye." She was then carried off in true showbiz style, lying sideways across the six dancers. The charity's patron Prince of Wales, who was treated to a Marilyn Monroe-style Happy Birthday by the ex-Spice girl for his 50th birthday, missed the act. He is arriving around 1700 BST. Star-studded line-up Thousands of music fans have gathered in the central London park for the sell-out outdoor concert. Kicking off the event were Irish band The Corrs. Former Take That star Gary Barlow, EastEnders favourite Martine McCutcheon and teen band Steps were also on the bill. Eighties revivalists were also eagerly awaiting performances by veteran bands Blondie, Culture Club, Eurythmics and Madness on two giant stages. Mark Morrison will also join forces with Conner Reeves for a 15-minute performance. The 100,000 tickets for the party sold out within 48 hours. | Entertainment Contents
