Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the third Harry Potter film, has topped the North American box office chart for the second week. It took $35m (�19.4m) over the weekend, bring its US and Canadian total so far to $158.1 m (�87.8m), according to analysts Exhibitor Relations.
Vin Diesel thriller The Chronicles of Riddick was second, with Shrek 2 third.
The Stepford Wives, which stars Nicole Kidman and Matthew Broderick, entered in fourth place with $22.2m (�12.3m).

The Prisoner of Azkaban has become a global hit since its release two weeks ago, taking more than $362m (�200m) around the world, according to industry magazine Screen Daily. It became the first film to make more than �5m on its first day of release in the UK, on 31 May.
The Chronicles of Riddick, a sequel to sci-fi thriller Pitch Black, took $24.6m (�13.6m), while Shrek 2 took �24m (�13.3m).
The Stepford Wives, a remake of a 1975 sci-fi thriller about a sinister small town where women have been replaced with robots, cost $90m (�50m) to make, and was plagued with delays.
Another film making an entry in the top 10 was Garfield: The Movie, which took $21.6m (�12m) in its first week to take fifth place.
