The awkward duo, played by Enfield and Kathy Burke, will head off to Ibiza in Kevin And Perry - The Movie, in search of "true love" - or a desperate rush to lose their virginity.

They also plan to become club DJs in the film, which goes into production next month and will be shot in London and Ibiza.

The script is by Enfield and writing partner Dave Cummings, whose past credits also include The Fast Show.

Kevin and Perry - created for BBC One's Harry Enfield And Chums - are two tormented teenagers. who "hate" their middle-class parents and are obsessed by sex.

Enfield, who will be making his movie debut, said: "As yet the only person who understands me is my best mate Perry.

"For although I've been up for it for almost three years, no girl has yet let me go the whole way. We've got to get it in this film or we'll be abnormal."

The film is also expected to feature a number of cameo roles from well-known British stars.

Burke has been acclaimed for serious roles in films such as Nil By Mouth and Elizabeth, while Enfield's characters have included cockney spiv Loadsamoney, Tim Nice-But-Dim, Tory Boy and his creations with Paul Whitehouse, Smashie and Nicey.

The film is being made by Tiger Aspect, one of the companies behind Bean - The Ultimate Disaster Movie, which has become the third most successful British movie of all time, behind The Full Monty and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
