DJ Eric Prydz held off competition from Girls Aloud |
Swedish DJ Eric Prydz's Call on Me has gone to the top of the singles chart. The dance hit - which samples Steve Winwood's 1982 hit Valerie - held off competition from Girls Aloud who are in at number two with Love Machine.
Meanwhile, ex-Westlife star Brian McFadden, who went straight to the top last week with Real to Me, fell to number six.
Teenage singing sensation Joss Stone was the only other new entry in the top 10 with You Had Me at number nine.
High flyers
The song is her first new material since last year's two-million selling The Soul Sessions album.
US pop-punk band Green Day went in at number three with the George Bush-baiting American Idiot, making an all new top three.
Last week's high flyers Nelly and McFly dropped down the chart this week.
US rapper Nelly went from two to four with My Place/Flap Your Wings while McFly's That Girl just held on to a top 10 spot after falling from three to 10.
In the album chart, rockers Embrace knocked Natasha Bedingfield off the top spot with their album comeback album Out of Nothing.
Paul Weller's covers record, Studio 150, featuring songs ranging from Oasis to The Carpenters, went in at two, with Bedingfield's Unwritten at three.
