Eamon holds number one spot

Eamon's album is at number six
US singer Eamon remained at the top of the UK singles chart on Sunday with his expletive-ridden song I Don't Want You Back.

Rapper Eminem's group D12 stayed at number two for the second week with the track, My Band.

Rock group Marillion made a comeback at number seven with You're Gone, a single heavily promoted on their website.

Their singer, Steve Hogarth, had urged fans to buy at least three copies of the single to get it into the top 10.

But the veteran band did not achieve the chart's highest new entry - that went to Los Angeles rockers Maroon 5, who took the number three spot with This Love.

UK TOP FIVE SINGLES
1. Eamon - I Don't Want You Back
2. D12 - My Band
3. Maroon 5 - This Love
4. Anastacia - Left Outside Alone
5. The Rasmus - In the Shadows

Anastacia held on to fourth place but Finnish band The Rasmus dropped to number five.

Eamon, who hails from New York, said he wrote his single after finding out his girlfriend was cheating on him.

The hip-hop song contains 33 swear words.

In the album chart, Guns 'n' Roses stayed at number one for a second week with their Greatest Hits album but Prince scored the highest new entry with Musicology at number three.

The 45-year-old artist described his album as "a long overdue return to the art and craft of music - that's what this album is all about. School's in session."

US singer Anastacia stayed at number two, while former Abba star, Agnetha Faltskog, made a return to the chart with a new entry at number 12.
