Alicia Keys scooped five Grammy awards in 2002 |
US R&B star Alicia Keys has cancelled a concert in Jakarta following last week's bomb attack on the Australian embassy in the Indonesian capital. The singer had been due to perform in Jakarta on 5 October.
A spokesman for promoter Java Musikindo said Keys' management was concerned about security in the wake of the bombing, which killed nine people.
Boy band Blue are also due to perform in Jakarta next month, but it is not clear if the concert will go ahead.
Indonesia has been hit by a series of bombings in recent years which have deterred international acts from playing there.
Jakarta's police chief Da'i Bachtiar said Thursday's bomb was similar to those used on the city's Marriott Hotel last year and the Bali nightclubs in 2002.
It bore the hallmark of militant Islamists Jemaah Islamiah (JI), widely blamed for both attacks, he said.
