The Rasmus had a global hit with In the Shadows |
Finnish rockers The Rasmus were forced off stage after just one song at the Reading Festival on Sunday under a barrage of mud and bottles from fans. The band, who had a huge hit with In the Shadows in April, suffered at the hands of a merciless main stage crowd.
US group Green Day, rapper 50 Cent and The Streets are among the other acts on the bill on the final day on Sunday.
At its sister event in Leeds, The White Stripes and Morrissey top the bill on the last of three days.
The White Stripes were forced to cancel last year's appearance |
The events, among the biggest in the British rock calendar, have seen tens of thousands of fans revel in mud and music. The Darkness, The Libertines and Franz Ferdinand were among the other highlights, with all bands playing both events over the weekend.
The White Stripes headlined Reading on Saturday before moving on to Leeds on Sunday - and apologised for pulling out last year.
They were forced to cancel after singer Jack White was in a car crash.
"My name is Jack White, this is my big sister Meg, sorry we couldn't make it last year - we caught a cab this time," he told the Reading crowd.
