Beach Boy Wilson plays Eden site
Brian Wilson
Wilson follows the likes of PJ Harvey and Badly Drawn Boy
Beach Boys star Brian Wilson is to play a show at Cornwall's Eden Project environmental centre in the summer.

The former leader of the Californian surf-pop group, who recently played a short UK tour, will play the St Austell centre on 16 July.

Wilson will also play other dates in London, Manchester, Ipswich, Oxford and Portsmouth that month.

The Eden Project, an enclosed botanic garden, has previously held gigs by PJ Harvey and Badly Drawn Boy.

More concerts at the Eden Project this summer will be announced soon.

Wilson, 61, recently played concerts in the UK, playing in entirety the Beach Boys albums Pet Sounds and Smile.

Pet Sounds, released in 1966, is widely regarded as one of the most influential albums in rock history.

Wilson is the last surviving member of the three Wilson brothers who formed the 60s group.

His brother Dennis drowned in 1983, while Carl died of cancer in 1998.
