Des O'Connor proposed to his partner last summer |
TV presenter Des O'Connor, 72, has revealed that he is expecting a baby with his 35-year-old fiancee. O'Connor, who hosts ITV1 chat show Des and Mel with Melanie Sykes, said he and partner Jodie Brooke Wilson "couldn't be happier".
It will be his fifth child - he already has four daughters from three previous marriages.
Ms Wilson, a singer from Australia, has said she is "over the moon" and "Des will make a wonderful dad".
O'Connor, who has been on TV for more than 30 years, has three daughters in their thirties - Karen, Tracy and Samantha - and another daughter, Kristina, who is 16.

He said: "We've been talking about a baby for a long time and this Christmas we had such a wonderful family holiday together with my daughters and their partners. "We just felt the time was right for us to have a baby of our own."
The couple have been together for almost 14 years, but only got engaged last summer. No date has been set for their wedding.
Ms Wilson, who released her debut album last year, said: "I've seen how much Des adores his daughters. The girls and I have always got on so well together I believe the new baby will bring us all even closer."
Last year, O'Connor signed a multi-million pound deal after the success of Today With Des And Mel, which is said to have become a cult hit with student viewers.
