Royal Ballet star Sylvie Guillem has been forced to cancel the first three performances of her Stories of Love and Passion season after hurting her ankle. The principal ballerina injured the upper ankle of her left foot while rehearsing last week.
Although the injury is not series, Guillem has been advised to rest by an ankle specialist.
The first three performances of Stories of Love and Passion on the 9, 10 and 11 August have been cancelled.
Refunds
The first night will now take place on Thursday.
The Royal Opera House said ticket holders for the cancelled performances would be refunded on receipt of the original tickets.
The cancelled dates will not be rescheduled.
Guillem's unique artistry has won her international acclaim.
She had chosen ballets by Frederick Ashton, Kenneth MacMillan and Alberto Alonso to dance during her week-long season, which was tagged onto the end of the Bolshoi season.
