Singer Art Garfunkel has been fined $100 (�54) after admitting marijuana possession, court officials have said. The Simon and Garfunkel star paid the fine and another $100 in costs at Hurley Town Court, 90 miles north of New York City.
Garfunkel, 62, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana when his limousine was pulled over for speeding near Hurley on 17 January.
Police said the arresting officer had not recognised the recording star.
Speeding
The officer found a bag containing six grams (0.21 ounce) of marijuana in the star's jacket pocket.
The limousine driver was given a speeding ticket for driving at 61 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Simon and Garfunkel are best known for folk classics including Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Sounds of Silence and Scarborough Fair.
The pair recently finished their first tour for 20 years, selling out venues across the US.
