Pop singer Justin Timberlake is to star alongside Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman in his first big screen movie. Timberlake, who recently won two Grammy Awards, will play a young journalist who uncovers a group of corrupt policemen in crime drama Edison.
"After years of looking at scripts, he's decided on what we think is a terrific project," his publicist said.
The former 'N Sync star has previously acted in a Disney teen TV movie, Model Behavior, in 2000.

Edison starts filming in Canada at the end of February, and is expected to be released in 2005. "You can judge by the quality of the people associated with the film the direction he's headed as he begins his film career," publicist Ken Sunshine said.
Freeman plays a senior reporter who helps Timberlake's character, Spacey stars as the district attorney's top investigator and rapper LL Cool J is also in the cast.
The film will also mark the film writing and directing debut for David J Burke, who wrote TV series like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and SeaQuest DSV.
