Lord Brocket was jailed for fraud in 1996

Singer Kerry McFadden, pop star Peter Andre and former reporter Jennie Bond are left in the camp to battle for the title of king or queen of the jungle.

Ex-Atomic Kitten star McFadden is now odds-on favourite with bookmakers to be voted the ITV1 contest's winner.

Brocket hugged his fellow contestants, saying "we did a good job" as he left.

The 51-year-old aristocrat was jailed in 1996 for fraudulently claiming �4.3m from his vintage car insurance company.

"I never wanted to win it. I thought I was on borrowed time," he said after leaving the camp.

A major source of entertainment had been the feud between Bond and Brocket after she made remarks about his "moneyed background".

"All of us thought she was slightly driving us mad," he said.

"Things would run smoother [without Bond]... We all sort of agreed she was the odd one out."

The show pits a group of minor celebrities against each other as they brave a variety of disgusting challenges in the wilderness.

McFadden is now 1/3 favourite to be crowned winner with bookmakers Ladbrokes.

Outsider

Spokesman Warren Lush said: "The money keeps coming for Kerry - we would be shocked if she isn't crowned the first ever queen of the jungle."

Peter Andre is 3/1 to win, followed by Bond at 6/1 - a former BBC television royal correspondent who has lasted longer than many expected.

"Bookmakers have made her an outsider throughout the show but she continues to defy the odds," Mr Lush said.
