Dido has been a Brit winner before |
Singer Dido has pulled out of her appearance at the Brit awards later this month. The solo star, who had the best selling album of 2003 with Life For Rent, pulled out because of rehearsals and writing for her upcoming world tour.
Dido is tipped to be one of the show's big winners with three nominations.
She said: "Although I'll be sorry to miss all the fun and celebrations at the Brits, I look forward to seeing everyone on tour soon."
Dido is up for best female, best album for Life For Rent and best single for White Flag.
"The last year has been absolutely fantastic for me. However, the continual commitment to events, promotion and TV appearances has meant that any time for being creative has been non-existent," the singer said.

The 32-year-old will also miss out on the US Grammy music awards on Sunday because of her decision. She is nominated for best female pop vocal.
All her other engagements over the next four weeks have been cancelled.
Dido said she was looking forward to her tour, which is likely to start in May and will include several British dates.
"I'm really excited to be clearing the decks and making space to write and record. I've also been desperate to get out on the road and this now means that I will finally be able to make that a reality," said the singer.
Cat Deeley will host the Brits on 17 February. Justin Timberlake will present a special award to Duran Duran, while Beyonce and Black Eyed Peas are among those due to perform.
