Illusionist David Blaine has been voted the biggest loser of 2003 in a poll, beating Eurovision failures Jemini and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham. The illusionist, who spent 44 days suspended in a glass box with no food over the Thames, drew 24% of the vote.
Second in the poll was former Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith, who got 15% of the 1,000 votes in the poll for McCain Foods.
In third place were Eurovision failures Jemini, who got no points in the show.
The entire Australian nation was voted fourth-biggest loser, after their rugby team's loss to England in the final of the Rugby World Cup.
In fifth place was Victoria Beckham, who has had a difficult year trying to revive her music career.
In sixth place was Charles Ingram, the Who Wants to be a Millionaire? contestant who this year was found guilty of cheating in order to win the �1m prize.
