Justin Hawkins, singer with rock band The Darkness, is to deliver an alternative TV Christmas message. His broadcast will air on MTV at 1500 GMT on Christmas Day - the same time as The Queen's traditional address.
Hawkins will joke that The Darkness upstaged Robbie Williams as support act at his sell-out summer Knebworth shows.
The band are being tipped to take the Christmas number one slot with their single Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End).
