Chris Hide, seen in his local college band, came in fourth place |
Chris Hide was voted off Pop Idol on Saturday, ahead of rivals Mark Rhodes, Sam Nixon and Michelle McManus. Chris made a shock exit from the ITV1 show, which saw all four contestants singing Christmas-themed songs.
Simon Cowell had earlier called Chris' version of Winter Wonderland his "highlight of the series so far".
According to Cowell, the remaining contestants will each record a version of the winner's single on Monday. Sam Nixon is currently favourite to win.
He is now 2/7 favourite with bookmaker William Hill, with Michelle at 11/4 and Mark the 10/1 outsider to win the public vote on 20 December.
Saturday's performances were watched by an average of 9.4 million viewers, with 8.2 million tuning in to see the result.
