Britney Spears says she is a fan of Pop Idol |
Pop star Britney Spears has advised Pop Idol contestants not to tolerate putdowns from judge Simon Cowell. Speaking on ITV1's This Morning on Monday, the singer said: "I would take his advice and whatever he said and tell him to shove it."
However, Spears admitted she was a fan of the show, which has been a huge hit in the US under the name American Idol.
"I think it's inspiring for kids. I think people watch that and it gives them hope," she said.
"You see these kids, they're hungry and they're inspired and they're motivated."
The final round of the second series of Pop Idol is currently under way, with the first two of the 12 finalists, Leon McPherson and Crawford, eliminated on Saturday's show.
Beautiful
Spears also told This Morning she was considering relocating to London, following a recent visit.
"I went to London last week and it's so cool there. I'm thinking of moving there, it's really beautiful."
Spears' new single Me Against The Music, which features guest vocals from Madonna, is released next week, with her new album, In The Zone, due out in November.
A life-sized model of the singer pole-dancing was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London last week.
The dummy is flanked by live dancers, and visitors to the exhibit will be able to dance alongside them, with their efforts relayed on giant plasma screens.
