Pop Idol winner Will Young, runner-up Gareth Gates and the Cheeky Girls were among the winners at the National Music Awards on Sunday. Gates won two awards, favourite TV music performance and favourite male singer, while Young collected best album for From Now On.
The Cheeky Girls, also TV talent show veterans, won favourite novelty record for the Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum).
The pop awards, held in London, were voted for by the public.
Among guests at the ceremony were Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell, Holly Valance, model Jordan and US hip-hop band the Black Eyed Peas.

Kylie Minogue was voted favourite international artist, while opera star Andrea Bocelli won favourite specialist performer. The Oscar-winning song Lose Yourself by Eminem added to its awards haul, winning favourite movie song.
Other winners included former S Club member Rachel Stevens for UK female singer, Coldplay for favourite band and Busted were crowned favourite newcomers.
Dame Shirley Bassey picked up a lifetime achievement award.
