50 Cent won two prizes at the Source Hip-Hop Music Awards in Miami - but was not present to collect his awards. The controversial rapper's Get Rich Or Die Tryin' was named album of the year, while In Da Club won single of the year by a male artist.
Other winners included Nelly, who was named best male solo artist, and Lil'Kim - who picked up the award for top female solo artist.
Best group of the year went to Lil'Jon and the East Side Boyz.
The awards are backed by hip-hop magazine The Source, and the ceremony took place under tight security.
50 Cent's awards continue a year which has seem him achieve mainstream success around the world.
Born Curtis Jackson, the 26-year-old was brought up in the tough South Jamaica district of New York's Queens borough.
Despite being dogged by feuding in the hip-hop world - he was shot nine times in a 2000 attack - Get Rich Or Die Tryin' sold four million copies in its first two months on release in the US alone.
