Cameron Diaz has a very good reason to smile

After earning �25m in one year, Diaz beat Oscar winners' Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts to top the list, compiled by the 2004 Guinness Book of Records.

Former model Diaz, 30, was launched onto the Hollywood scene at the age of 21, with a part in The Mask alongside comic Jim Carrey.

Other hits have included There's Something About Mary, My Best Friend's Wedding, Gangs of New York and two Charlie's Angels movies.

Friends actor Matthew Perry has been named by Guinness as the highest paid TV guest star after earning �510,000 for an appearance on Ally McBeal.

And the Guinness World Records holds the record for the highest selling copyright book of all time, after the 2002 edition spent more than 20 weeks on the New York Times best sellers list.
