Julianne Moore received two Oscar nominations this year
Hollywood star Julianne Moore, the star of films such as Hannibal and Magnolia, has married her fianc� in New York.

Moore, 42, married Bart Freundlich at the weekend, reportedly on Saturday, her US publicists told BBC News Online, although they did not comment further than that.

Moore became engaged to Mr Freundlich in December.

The pair own a $900,000 (�573,000) loft apartment in Greenwich, where the marriage is believed to have taken place.

The couple have been together for six years. They have two children - Caleb, five, and Liv, two.

The couple met when Moore starred in The Myth of Fingerprints in 1997, which he directed.

They also worked together on World Traveller in 2001, which co-starred Billy Crudup.

'Stunned'

Moore, 42, was previously married to actor John Gould Rubin but their 10-year union ended in divorce in 1995.

Born Julie Anne Smith, Moore changed her name when she joined the Screen Actors Guild.

This year she admitted she was "absolutely stunned" to receive two nominations - best actress for Far From Heaven, and best supporting actress for The Hours.

The actress made her name playing half sisters in As The World Turns, a role that won her an Emmy.

Other credits include Magnolia, An Ideal Husband, The Shipping News and Hannibal.

Moore confessed to seeking therapy after filming the thriller Hannibal, the sequel to The Silence of the Lambs.
