TV presenters Ant and Dec have topped a list of "hot" celebrities compiled by an influential industry magazine. Broadcast describes the pair - Declan Donnelly, 28, and Ant McPartlin, 27 - as a "gold mine" for ITV.
Their pulling power puts them ahead of fellow presenters Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Graham Norton.
Other names in Broadcast's Hot 100 of movers and shakers in the TV industry include Peter Kay, James Nesbitt and Pop Idol supremo Simon Fuller.
Loren promotes son's film in US
Sophia Loren has returned to Hollywood to promote her son's directorial debut on US cable TV.
The veteran Italian actress stars in the film, Between Strangers, as an ageing, frustrated artist in a loveless marriage with her husband, played by Pete Postlethwaite.
It is written and directed by her youngest son, Edoardo Ponti and premieres on Sunday on the Women's Entertainment cable channel.
"We chose cable because today's theatrical market is not conducive to character-driven movies," said Ponti.
Bacon gets Fame star
Actor Kevin Bacon has become the latest celebrity to get a star on the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard.
"I had two great parents who didn't know anything about the movies," said the 45-year-old Footloose star.
"It might be weird for my family who is here to watch their annoying little brother become a movie star."
Bacon is also the subject of a parlour game called Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, whose aim to connect any other actor to him in no more than six steps.
Kensit prepares to make West End debut
Actress Patsy Kensit makes her West End debut on Thursday, playing alongside Nigel Havers in a saucy new comedy.
In See You Next Tuesday - inspired by the 1998 French film Le Diner de Cons - the 35-year-old plays Haver's mistress.
Father Ted's Ardal O'Hanlon co-stars as an unsuspecting accountant whom Havers invites to one of his gatherings for people he finds exceptionally stupid.
Kensit's previous stage experience includes a small role in the Royal Shakespeare Company's Richard III.
Italy and France choose Oscar entries
The film I'm Not Scared (Lo Non Ho Paura) has been chosen as Italy's entry for next year's foreign language Oscar.
It is directed by Gabriele Salvatores, who won an Oscar in 1992 for his World War II drama Mediterraneo.
Meanwhile, France has said its entry will be Jean-Paul Rappeaneau's Bon Voyage, which focuses on the days following the country's 1940 military defeat.
Next year's Oscars will take place a month earlier than usual, on February 29, with nominations due on January 27.
P Diddy puts on running shoes
Hip-hop mogul Sean "P Diddy" Combs is planning to run the New York City Marathon to raise money for charity.
The 33-year-old star has been training for three weeks, running up to 15 miles a day for the event on 2 November, which will have around 30,000 runners.
Combs hopes to raise $1m (�604,276) for three children's charities, and has already secured sponsorship from companies including Nike, MTV and McDonald's.
A spokesman for the race organisers said: "It's great, we welcome him."
