Beyonce's father sells music firm
Beyonce Knowles
Beyonce has prospered under her father's management
Beyonce Knowles' father has sold his music management company to the London-based music group Sanctuary for $10m (6m).

Mathew Knowles' company Music World Entertainment has managed artists such as Destiny's Child and Kelly Rowland.

Under the deal Knowles will work at Sanctuary as president of its urban and gospel division.

He will continue to be based in Houston, Texas, from where he will manage his roster of artists.

He will also establish a tour agency and record label to develop new acts, as well as overseeing a music publishing operation.

Knowles, a former Xerox salesman, put together in 1989 a singing group of 10 and 11-year-olds - including his daughter - that eventually became Destiny's Child.

Knowles launched a solo career last year after her father announced that the trio were to "take a little break".

She has gone on to solo success in the R&B field, topping both the UK singles and album chart with Crazy in Love and Dangerously in Love.
