Calendar Girls has overtaken The Italian Job at the UK box office taking it back to the top of the charts.

The British film has so far taken 9.4m in the four weeks since it was released, now knocking the Italian Job in to second place.

But there was no appearance in the top 15 films for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's turkey Gigli.

This means it took less than the 78,896 of Rugrats Go Wild, which was released two months ago, at number 15.

Gigli has been widely panned and was a flop on its release in the US.

Johnny Depp is enjoying huge success, with his films occupying the number four and five positions in the UK.

Pirates of the Caribbean, starring Depp and Orlando Bloom, continues to attract audiences, with its 776,424 weekend total taking its overall UK receipts to more than 25m.

Other new entries include Ewan McGregor's Young Adam at number eight and Ned Kelly, starring Heath Ledger as the Australian outlaw, at number nine.

Calendar Girls now faces competition from British film Bright Young Things, directed by Stephen Fry, and the blockbuster Bad Boys II, starring Will Smith, when they are released this week.
