On Saturday, Audley Anderson, 31, from Surrey, became the first student to be voted out after his version of My Girl failed to impress viewers or fellow students. The TV talent show, which follows the progress of musical and performance training, began at the end of July.
The winner will get a 1m record contract with Polydor and the chance to live the lifestyle of an international pop star for a year.
Full-length versions of the students' songs will be available after every eviction show.
The tracks are on sale through websites like HMV, MSN, Freeserve and Tiscali - but not the BBC's official Fame Academy website.
Digital music company OD2 - the UK's market leader in legitimate downloads - is providing the service alongside Polydor.
OD2, said the tracks would "complement" Fame Academy album releases in the run-up to Christmas.
Fame Academy went head-to-head with ITV1 rival Pop Idol for the first time on Saturday - with the BBC One show edging ahead in the ratings for the 15 minutes when the two clashed.
But Pop Idol achieved higher viewing figures overall, attracting an average of five million viewers during the whole show, compared with Fame Academy's 3.4 million.
