TV quiz Who Wants to be a Millionaire? faces a lawsuit after a contestant claims a wrongly-worded question cost him thousands of pounds. Ex-solicitor Paddy Herron, 43, wants another chance after dropping from 16,000 to 1,000 over what he says was an "ambiguous question".
He said "Giant's Causeway" was given as the correct answer to a question, but the question was wrongly worded.
A spokeswoman from the show said Mr Herron had been treated fairly.
"We carefully considered Paddy Heron's concerns when he first approached us, and we were satisfied he had been treated fairly," the spokeswoman from production company Celador said.
Second chance
She said there were no plans to invite Mr Herron back to the show.
The complaint was over the answers to the question "The island of Staffa is said to be at the end of which route?".
The possible answers were the Pennine Way, the Road to the Isles, Waiting Street or the Giant's Causeway. Mr Herron said he knew the causeway was not a route so did not include it. It was given as the correct answer.
Mr Herron, from County Tyrone in Northern Ireland, wants another chance to compete for the main prize of 1m.
In 2001 contestant Stephen Parker was given a second chance on a 64,000 question after it was discovered two correct answers had been offered. He failed to make any more money.
