Coldplay are tipped for Mercury success |
Coldplay singer Chris Martin and girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow are to marry in the autumn, according to reports from the US. Their wedding ceremony will take place in the Hamptons, the exclusive beachside resort near New York, at a property owned by director Steven Spielberg, New York Post columnist Cindy Adams reported.
The columnist reported the wedding had originally been planned for December.
The pair reportedly said they would marry at a party in New York last month.
Paltrow would be given away by her godfather Steven Spielberg, in place of her father Bruce Paltrow , who died last year.
Spielberg is also a good friend of Paltrow's mother, the actress Blythe Danner.
Martin charged
Ms Adams said the date for the couple's wedding had been brought forward "before the leaves and their loves turn", it was reported.
The news comes just days after the Coldplay singer was charged with malicious damage after allegedly attacking a photographer's car at Byron Bay, in New South Wales, Australia.
Paltrow has been going out with Martin since last year |
Martin said he had lost his temper after photographer Jon Lister took pictures of him surfing. He is due to appear in a Byron Bay court on 8 October.
Coldplay are currently on the Australasian leg of their world tour, which finishes at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan next month.
Coldplay rose to fame in 2000 with their album Parachutes.
Their last album, A Rush of Blood to the Head, was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize on Tuesday.
