She was arrested at the demonstration at the city's police headquarters on as civil disobedience protests continued over the killing of the 22-year-old Amadou Diallo. He was hit by bullets fired by four police officers at his home in the Bronx home in February. She said: "If we're not here today then we're saying that what happened is acceptable and normal and I think that does a disservice to the other police. Including Sarandon, 821 people have been arrested since protests began on 9 March. They have been released after receiving summons for disorderly behaviour.
