 Hunter has said she was too young to settle down |
Model Rachel Hunter has filed for divorce from Rod Stewart, four years after separating from the singer. Hunter cited irreconcilable differences in papers filed at Los Angeles Superior Court.
Hunter, 33, married the 58-year-old singer in December 1990 at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church.
She broke up with him in 1999 after reportedly saying she was too young to settle down.
The couple will share custody of their 11-year-old daughter, Renee, and eight-year-old son, Liam.
They have yet to negotiate a financial settlement and division of assets.
Stewart is a multi-millionaire after more than three decades as one of the world's best-known pop singers.
He has two grown-up children from his first marriage to Alana Hamilton, and a daughter by model Kelly Emberg.
Stewart is currently dating model Penny Lancaster, but has said he does not expect to marry again.
