A London art student has produced a topical work for her degree show this week - a large embroidered tapestry of David Beckham. The 49-square foot panel shows the England captain in a saintly pose -mirroring the typical religious iconography of the artist's home country, Lithuania.
Loreta Bilinskaite-Burke , a fine art student at Central St Martins College of Art and Design in London and a part-time catwalk model, spent more than three months finishing the piece.
Her parents, aunts and uncles all lent a hand at the family at home in Lithuania.
The tapestry, called Worship, reflects the rise of western culture and western-style youth idols in the former communist nation.

The work is up for sale -with a seriously western price tag of �37,000. Away from her studies Miss Bilinskaite-Burke has appeared on the catwalk for designers Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood.
In order to complete her work in time for the degree show, she could be seen furiously stitching backstage during London Fashion Week.
Her tapestry will be on display at the central London college from 14 to 21 June.
