Zeta Jones gives birth to girl
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones
The couple already have a son
Hollywood star Catherine Zeta Jones has had a baby girl, it was announced on Tuesday.

Carys Zeta Douglas, her second baby with husband Michael Douglas, was born on Sunday morning in New Jersey. She weighed three kilograms (6lbs 12 ozs), Zeta Jones' publicist said.

"They're all doing fantastic," she said.

The couple already have a two-year-old son, Dylan Michael, who was born just before their wedding in November 2000.

The birth has come only four weeks after the Welsh-born actress won a best supporting actress Oscar for her role as the scheming Velma Kelly in the hit musical Chicago.

At the Oscars ceremony last month she performed an energetic duet with her Chicago co-star and fellow nominee Queen Latifah.

The birth also follows the couple's court case in London two weeks ago against the magazine Hello!, over photos taken at the couple's New York wedding.

Zeta Jones, 33, starred alongside Douglas, 58, on the set of Steven Soderburgh's Traffic, which won the best director award at the 2001 Oscars.

The Welsh actress had previously broken into Hollywood starring in the epic The Mask of Zorro in 1998.

Douglas has a 24-year-old son, Cameron, from a previous marriage.

The father and son - and Michael's father, veteran actor Kirk Douglas - star in a new film which opens in the US on Friday.

It Runs in the Family is the first time the three generations of the Douglas clan have appeared in the same movie.
