Comic Ricky Gervais will compete with Jonathan Ross and Stephen Fry for the title of best entertainment radio presenter at the annual Sony Awards.

The Office creator Gervais was nominated for his weekly slot on London's Xfm's while Fry is up for his Classic FM show.

Ross has been nominated for two awards for the fourth year running for his Saturday show on BBC Radio 2.

An edition which saw him realise a long-standing wish to have David Bowie as a guest has been nominated for best single programme.

Terry Wogan has once again been shortlisted for his Radio 2 breakfast show after picking up the prize at last year's ceremony.
