Stars' auction for HIV charity
Tracey Emin
A day with Tracey Emin is among the prizes
Artist Tracey Emin, novelist Will Self and newsreader Kirsty Young are among celebrities backing an auction for the Lighthouse HIV charity.

A number of famous names are donating prizes for the fund-raising drive at Christie's auction house in London on Monday night.

Emin is offering a visit to her studio complete with champagne lunch, while Self has offered to write a bespoke story to a high bidder.

Lighthouse - part of the Terrence Higgins Trust - provides care and support to men, women and children affected by HIV and Aids.

Others backing the event include model James Gooding - best known for his much-publicised relationship with Kylie Minogue - model-actress Marie Helvin and public relations expert Matthew Freud.

Auction prizes include a walk-on part on US TV comedy Frasier, pole dancing lessons at a London club, and a winner's face published on a special, one-off cover of Harpers & Queen magazine.

Organisers of the event, now in its sixth year, say it has become a fixture in the social calendars of London's "most fashionable set".
