Kwame Kwei-Armah performed Try a Little Tenderness |
Casualty star Will Mellor and comedian Ruby Wax are to go head-to-head for the final of Celebrity Fame Academy. The pair won their way through to the last round after actor Kwame Kwei-Armah became the latest contestant to be evicted from the show.
Kwame, who also appears in Casualty, failed to win the backing of former pupils with his version of Try a Little Tenderness.
The finale of the week-long show will be broadcast during Friday's Red Nose Night in aid of Comic Relief.
'A miracle'
Will won Thursday night's show with his rendition of Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
Kwame and Ruby Wax - who performed Leader of the Pack - then faced a vote from all the ex-pupils of the Fame Academy.
Ruby soundly beat Kwame in that vote by 6-1 to make it through to the final.
Asked if she could win the entire contest Ruby said: "What do you think ... like it would be a miracle - it is a miracle".
Poor version
The first star to be voted out of the Academy was TV presenter Paul Ross.
He was followed by Children's TV presenter Fearne Cotton, who performed a poor version of Driftwood by Travis.
Comedian Jo Brand, actor John Thompson and presenter Ulrika Jonsson swiftly followed.
The stars fight for survival in the Academy by attempting to win viewers' votes with their singing and dancing prowess.
