Reborn in the USA: Your views
Tony Hadley used to be the lead singer of Spandau Ballet
Tony Hadley is one of the contestants
Reborn in the USA is the latest take on the reality TV format, pitting stars of the 80s and 90s against each other in a bid to gain a new recording contract.

The show lost a contestant even before it had begun when Mark Shaw (former lead singer of Then Jericho) withdrew from the race after falling out with fellow contestants and the programme's producers.

The remaining contestants have been sent off on tour around the US, where it will be up to local audiences to choose their favourites.

But what do you think?

Who will win? Will the show be a ratings hit?

I think Sonia should have been sent off the show. What she did to Dollar was unforgivable and she knew exactly how to get the headlines she needed to secure the vote. Her manipulation is much more impressive than her talent. Will not be watching again and have been given the same opinion from most of my classmates. ITV1 you have been duped.
Paula Waite, UK

What a genius concept, it could only be bettered by introducing elements of The Fight (my disappointment at the cancellation of this excellent show cannot be charted) - Tony has already done the training anyway!

Two problems with the show: there's not enough footage of off-stage antics and they should be singing their own material instead of getting the audience (who look like they've been paid to be there) judge them on songs that are really hard to sing and didn't make them famous anyway.
Kellie, Scotland, UK

Plain and simple for me : Lee John, Tony Hadley, Peter Cox are the best of the bunch followed closely by Hayden and Michelle and Elkie, the rest, don't even mention. Especially liked Lee's rendition of Unforgettable, great stuff!
Pat, Belgium

The majority of the performances are little better than you'll hear at the local karaoke
Barry, England
Fabulous TV. Fascinating to see how the performers had changed everything from their song choice to clothes, hair and make-up for a US audience. Sonia was wonderfully terribly and Tony's Elvis impression awe inspiring!! Yep, my vote to Mr Cox!
Caroline, UK

Peter Cox has, by far, the most outstanding voice.
Sarah Dadvar, UK

How can the Americans put Elkie joint last with Gina G and behind Sonia? Elkie gave a unique rendition of When Will I See You Again and made it completely hers as she does with every song. Vote to save Elkie and get her singing something raunchier where she can really show off her vocal acrobatics, you've seen nothing yet
Dave West, UK

Elkie and Pete Cox are the only two who can really sing followed by Tony Hadley. Elkie has my vote and she has only hinted at what she can do yet.
Sean, UK

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. The majority of the performances are little better than you'll hear at the local karaoke. And please can we get rid of the gushing Davina "I'm so sad, you are both my favourites" and get a professional presenter in?
Barry, England

I felt sorry for Sonia - that girl can sing but she was so nervous she lost it
Jacq, UK
I wish there was more of this on the TV - so-called celebrities showing themselves up. How bad was Sonia, I actually felt sorry for her in the end - why would she do that to herself. The only person with an ounce of talent was Peter Cox. All the rest should quit whilst they have an ounce of dignity.
Anon, UK

The winner has to be Elkie Brooks. She is without doubt the greatest singer the UK has ever produced. Keep up the good work Elkie, we are all cheering you on.
Lee, UK

Anything which allows me to watch the gorgeous Tony Hadley once a week has to be good! Good luck Tony!!
Anne, UK

It seemed to go on far too long and someone should tell Dollar they have had their day, they looked like a cheap cabaret act.
Paula, UK

I cannot BELIEVE how truly AWFUL Sonia was!! GET HER OFF!!
Andrea, UK

Unfortunately for Sonia the wrong song was chosen. Sonia has a great voice (remember the Eurovision?) Am sure with a little support and the right song Sonia will prove herself to us all.
Shaun Stone, UK

They all overworked their songs. The venue looked pretty small and intimate, but most of them belted it out (or tried to) like they were doing a stadium gig, or they chose songs that needed to be sung from the heart and made them souund like they were singing a shopping list! I felt sorry for Sonia - that girl can sing but she was so nervous she lost it. Hayden was the best performed... he sang Misty Blue beautifully and you could tell he didn't feel the pressure like everyone else did.
Jacq, UK

I can't believe Dollar are so bitter that Gina G has a great bum - geez if you've got it, why not flaunt it, it certainly worked for Kylie!
Lulu, UK

I think Tony Hadley, Peter Cox and Elkie Brooks are the best! My vote goes to Tony Hadley. Has and always will have a great voice! Good luck Tone!
Miriam, London, UK

What great entertainment. Without doubt Elkie Brooks just keeps on getting better. What a voice and and she still looks stunning. If she sings rock and blues material she will blow every other performer out of the water. Rock on Elk, you deserve to win!!!
Jason, UK

There are only three people on this tour with any talent - Tony Hadley, Elkie Brookes and the sublime Peter Cox
Diane Brierley, UK
Someone please tell Sonia that she was trying too hard. Her performance was enjoyable in an extruciating way.
Anon, UK

To choose between Dollar and Sonia was not a problem until I saw her performance. Whilst Sonia is extremely talented vocally, she was let down by the choice of song on Saturday night. I only hope she has the courage to face the votes result this weekend. If there is any justice Dollar will be voted out and Sonia will get a chance to prove herself once more. Save Sonia, Ditch Dollar!
Mike, UK

Wow! Mark Shaw's perfomance, and I don't mean singing, has to go down as TV moment of the year. So what if he was set up? Anyone who tells Michelle Gayle he has a whole bag of "shush" for her is a legend in my book. And wasn't Sonia just embarrassing? I can see Reborn catching on, but if a second series was commissioned, how much further would the producers have to scrape the barrel? Tony Di Bart anyone?
Mat Wilson, England

On the whole, the artists were embarrassing with the exception of Peter Cox who is talented and did a great job - and sexy to boot!! Sonia made a three course meal of hers (incredible for all the wrong reasons) and for a supposedly professional act Dollar were pathetically amateurish. The prize is Cox's (I hope).
Wendy, Scotland

This was the most awful TV I have watched for months. Can't wait for next week! p.s. Did you notice Tony H wince when Sonia screeched?
Russell Catchpole, England

This show is such a laugh. Most of the acts are just awful with three exceptions. Tony Hadley, Peter Cox and Elkie Brooks. Elkie looks amazing and sounds amazing. I saw her live last year and she can sing blues like nobody else. What a voice, Elkie all the best of luck, you are the best and you know it.
John, UK

The US audience certainly chose the worst two acts - Sonia and Dollar were awful. It's a shame you can't vote both off this week! Peter Cox was superb, even with a song that he didn't choose - surely he'll win it by a mile?
Paul Mackokov, UK

The show is dire! The usual cheapskate rubbish that ITV consistently puts out. There are only three people on this tour with any talent - Tony Hadley, Elkie Brookes and the sublime Peter Cox.

Gina G would be nowhere without THAT dress! Sonia and Dollar were simply awful. The rest were just very ordinary - even dear old Elkie's voice didn't really seem to have survived very well.

If there is any justice, the dignified Mr Peter Cox ought to win the contest as he has the greatest voice and ability. Though his somewhat shy manner and personality may not hold as much appeal for the American audiences as the brasher Mr Hadley. Tony is good, but does not have anything like the vocal range that Peter Cox does.

In short, Tony was good but Peter is MUCH better!
Diane Brierley, UK

Peter to win, followed closely by Tony. Was also pleasantly surprised by Michelle Gayle's voice
Carole, UK
I felt sorry for Sonia as her nerves got the better of her. Strange that she managed to keep it together in front of millions for Eurovision years ago. Bad choice of song and she tried too hard.

We need to keep Dollar in for sheer entertainment value. They won't win but it's comical watching them try so hard.

David Van Day will be back at the hotdog stand soon.
Bob, Scotland

I'm not a fan of these programmes normally - the only reason I'm watching this is because Tony Hadley is on it, and I was a massive Spandau B fan. If he doesn't win, then I want Peter Cox to win. If those two somehow get voted off, then I don't care who wins! Good luck Tony and Peter!
Nick, England

Looks like Peter's got some fans!!
Sonia Green, UK

Our friend is Peter Cox's cousin - he was fab! He did an excellent job especially at such short notice and should definitely win. He just seems really nice. He's also very sexy!!
Kate, UK

Wasn't going to bother - just thought more celeb reality bandwagon etc. Then I caught Mark Shaw's hissy-fit - great TV! Then it got even better - Peter Cox - where have you been? I didn't realise I'd missed you until I heard that fantastic voice again! Peter to win, followed closely by Tony. Was also pleasantly surprised by Michelle Gayle's voice.
Carole, UK

Our winner....as always...is the one and only Tony Hadley! Peter Cox has a great voice too.....but Tony has to be number 1!!! Good luck Tone!!
Jet and Mary, UK

Peter Cox should win. He is the best by far.
Anon, UK

Peter Cox left the rest standing! Some of the others were just embarrassing to see.
Alison, UK
