Mel C is about to release her second solo album

She said the meeting, at Victoria and David Beckham's home in Hertfordshire, was a "catch up" as the group had not seen each other for years.

It was thought the meeting, also involving Melanie Brown, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton, would discuss the prospect of a tour and a greatest hits album.

"I don't think that any of the girls had that intention in mind," she told BBC Radio 2's Steve Wright on Wednesday.

"But I think if that had been raised at the dinner I would have left because I'm absolutely not interested, and I don't think any of them are either."

"It was just a friendly get together, it was just a social thing, and none of us are interested in getting back together, none of us are interested in a reunion," she said.

"We didn't discuss the Greatest Hits, it was just a get-together - and it was just to catch up and that's it. That is the God's honest truth. I swear on my mother's life."

The Spice Girls were one of the most successful pop acts in British history, with a string of number ones starting with 1996's Wannabe.

Geri Halliwell was the first to leave the band in 1998, walking out while the group were on a European tour.

The Spice Girls released another album but finally split in 2000, with the five members going on to solo careers.

But Mel C did not discredit the idea of a reunion in the future.

"Well I wouldn't say that is true, because I never say never. Who knows what the future holds. But at the moment I've no intention to do it," she says.

She did say she had enjoyed the meeting.

"It was strange because really we haven't seen each other for such a long time and so much has happened to all of us, but it was just like we'd not been together for a couple of weeks," she said.

Mel C will release her second solo album, Release, in March.

Her first solo album, 1999's Northern Star, was number one in the UK charts and featured hit singles such as Goin' Down and Never Be The Same Again.
