| Monday, 25 November, 2002, 16:04 GMT House parties after Goldie leaves ![]() Goldie left while the rest of the house partied The contestants in Channel 4's reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother have been recovering after an 80s party in the wake of DJ Goldie's eviction. The show, a charity version of Channel 4's by-now perennial summer reality TV hit, lasts for 10 days and finishes on Friday when the celebrity winner is revealed. The contestants in the house are cut off from the outside world and without luxuries. After Goldie's eviction on Sunday, the five remaining contestants were rewarded with a party and costumes after completing their task for the day. TV presenter Les Dennis donned a pair of PVC trousers, a leather jacket and a red headband while former-Take That star Mark Owen dressed up in satin shorts, leg-warmers and a sweater. Glamour model Melinda Messenger and TV host Sue Perkins danced to a soundtrack of Eighties hits including Buck's Fizz and Wham! But former TV host Anne Diamond sat on a sofa and did not join in the dancing with the rest of the housemates.
The ex-presenter had earlier said that she wanted to go home. She was the only one of the flatmates who got up early on Monday. She even took to the house's swimming pool in a cardigan because she was worried about comments about her weight. On Sunday, Goldie had seemed relieved when he became the first housemate to go. The 37-year-old drum'n'bass DJ was greeted by his wife, fashion designer Sonja Ashby, and appeared glad to be back in the outside world. Goldie had been nominated for eviction alongside former Family Fortunes presenter Les Dennis.
Bookmakers had made Dennis odds-on favourite to go. This celebrity version of the summer ratings hit show is the second, and has been popular, with 4.2 million watching Goldie's eviction and over 7m viewers tuning in to the first live show on Wednesday. On Monday, the loser of a general knowledge quiz will nominate the two people to be voted on by the public for the next eviction. |
