The six celebrities in the Big Brother house are gearing up to for their first round of live eviction nominations - with one already ready to escape the pressure of living under the cameras.

Former breakfast television presenter Anne Diamond confessed she had already had enough.

"I want to go home. I honestly feel I've been here for five days," she told her fellow housemates.

The six contestants - Les Dennis, Melinda Messenger, Goldie, Sue Perkins, Mark Owen and Diamond - have been living in the purpose built house since Wednesday as part of Channel 4's reality TV show.

During Friday night's live show they will each have to nominate which of their fellow housemates they wish to leave the house first.

The public will then begin to vote for who they want to evicted.

The show started well in the ratings as 7.2 million viewers tuned in to watch the housemates unveiled live.

But ratings fell for Thursday night's second show, with 4.5 million tuning in.

The six contestants will spend up to 10 days in the house, cut off from the outside world and without luxuries.

The contestants, who are all taking part for charity, have already completed their first live task which brought them groceries for their remaining time in the house.

Actor and musician Goldie, 37, was charged with collecting shopping baskets with a mechanical digger as the others watched in the rain.

Sporting a red wig under his hard hat, he successfully picked up nine baskets which included items such as toilet rolls, food and alcohol.

Diamond, 48, is the bookmakers' favourite to leave the show on Sunday, with Coral giving odds of 11-8 with Goldie in second place at 15-8.

Missed opportunity

Former Take That star Mark Owen, 30, has been entertaining the housemates by strumming a guitar that was brought in by comedy performer Perkins.

But he was left kicking himself as he realised he had missed a golden opportunity to plug his new album to a captive audience because he had not learnt it.

"I should have learned all my songs on guitar and played them every day," he said.

"'Here's my whole album!' I could be number one! I could have my own chart," he joked.

The finale of the show will be staged on 29 November when the winner will be crowned.
