Mr Jones is the latest album from legendary Welsh rocker Tom Jones.

The album, which features the hit single Tom Jones International, is a mix of covers and original material - much of it penned by Jones himself - and sees him collaborating with the likes of Fugees frontman Wyclef Jean.

"The material - especially the new songs co-written by the Welsh warbler himself - is just not strong enough to bridge the generation gap," wrote BBC News Online's Mike Smartt.

Thanks to a friend that already has the CD, I've been able to listen to it since I haven't received my copy yet. I think the new CD is fantastic! I love it that Tom keeps reinventing himself and his voice is as great now as it's ever been. I haven't decided on my favorite track yet, but I really love Feel The Rain. His voice is so strong on this one and it's a great song. I love Tom's music from yesterday, and I love the music from today every bit as much. I think this CD will be as big or bigger than Reload was.

The album was a big disappoinment for me. I cringed when I saw him perform the track Sex Bomb on Top of The Pops and now he is one stage beyond. I would like to see him sing some good songs as his voice is quite good

Tom Jones has proved time and again that, with a unique and talented voice, singers need not be limited to the styles of the decade. How many artists can claim to have the variety of Tom's repertoire? The question should not be whether his appeal spans the generations - that's been proven - but whether the new talent will survive as long as Tom has.
