| Thursday, 29 August, 2002, 09:45 GMT 10:45 UK Evans lifts lid on show ![]() Chris Evans is working on three new TV projects Chris Evans' new Channel 5 show, Live With Chris Moyles, is to be pitted against Emmerdale and Channel 4 News in the schedules. The programme, which will run for 13 weeks from 23 September, will be broadcast five days a week at 7pm. The half-hour show, said to be similar in style to TFI Friday, will see the BBC Radio 1 DJ Moyles taking an irreverent look at the day's news. It will also feature outside broadcasts, games and challenges.
A select audience of just 16 people will be invited to watch the show, which will be filmed in a North London bar. Moyles will also continue to front the afternoon slot on BBC Radio 1, having recently signed a new two-year deal with the station. Evans, who recently said he was focusing on working behind the scenes rather than presenting, said he was delighted to have signed Moyles, who is known for being outspoken.
"Presenting is entirely different and trying to do both wouldn't work," he said at the Edinburgh Television Festival. "It's more important for me to encourage everyone else and create talent." Evans has been absent from TV and radio for more than a year. His Channel 4 show TFI Friday was axed at the end of 2000 and last year he was sacked from Virgin Radio after missing a week's worth of shows. He is currently planning two other new projects - Boys And Girls, a Saturday night entertainment show for Channel 4, and a Channel 5 breakfast show in which he plans to team former Big Breakfast co-host Gaby Roslin with Terry Wogan. | See also: 25 Aug 02 | Entertainment 14 Jul 02 | Entertainment 08 Aug 02 | England 28 May 02 | Entertainment 08 Aug 02 | Entertainment 07 Jul 02 | Entertainment 01 Aug 02 | Entertainment Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Entertainment stories now: Links to more Entertainment stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
