It has been published in anticipation of the show's 2,000th outing on 13 September 2002, in its 38th year. "To Simpson's credit, he does include most of the moments which any serious student of TOTP history would have demanded on the syllabus," says the BBC's John Hand. But what did you think? Does it bring back the memories for you? Could it have been more thorough?
The best memory of Top of the Pops I have is seeing the Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays on the same show that kick started the 90s. Class! As a young punk, waiting for bands like Stiff Little Fingers or the Stranglers making rare apearrances. As a kid, I never missed it. My favourite was watching 10cc performing I'm Not in Love.
