Scooby-Doo has become something of a cult cartoon classic for 20 and 30-somethings, so it was only a matter of time before Hollywood got its hands on the ghost-busting gang and made a full-length feature.

The film combines live action with computer-generated images and stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr and Rowan Atkinson.

"The interaction between the human and CGI characters is jerkily unconvincing, and James Gunn's script is painfully lacking in invention and wit," says the BBC's Neil Smith.

Scooby sucks. This is a totally moronic film with zero acting, directing or script. If you are brain dead you might enjoy it. One of the worst films ever made.

After paying �25 for a ticket, popcorn and parking this was a complete waste of time and effort. Here is a classic example of a movie that should have gone straight to video. The best thing about our afternoon was the trailer for the new Bond and Austin Powers movies.

So why the big criticism levelled at Scooby-doo? It was aimed at 20 and 30-somethings and it was not, as far as I can see, a movie where it would try to get to the Oscar podium. Its a plain go-shut-out-the-rest-of-the-world-for-a-while type of movie and that's the way it should be seen. All in all, a good watch, and particularly liked the expressions Scooby-Doo had on his face at different junctures. Scooby-doo when are you coming back?

We have just seen this film, and think it's fantastic. Funny from start to finish, true to the original, some touching moments, and a twist that is delightfully pleasing, as it is unexpected. Worries that the CGI Scooby wouldn't work were soon put to rest. A must-see feel good film.

Having watched this as a Scooby fan, I found the film had everything I expected. Shaggy and Scooby were great on screen, and Matthew Lilliard deserves credit for ultimately saving the movie. Fred, Daphne, and Velma are exactly what they were in the TV show, simply additional characters revolving around Shaggy and Scooby. My advice is turn off your brain, watch the film for Shaggy/Scooby and you'll have a fun hour and a half. Oscar material it is not, but it's a feelgood movie aimed at the original Scooby fans. It'll probably go over kids heads though.

The writers had so much to work with here and completely blew it. The actor who plays Shaggy is the only redeeming part of this film. As for the graphics� the dog is plain creepy looking. How this film got past the test audience is mysterious, though.

Being the good auntie, I took my 10-year-old nephew to see this film and judging by his and many of the other children's reaction to the burping and farting scene, I knew that it would go over big. I had the good fortune to have my walkman radio with me and instead enjoyed listening to the interleague play by play between the Mets vs the Yankees. By the way, the Mets won so the day wasn't a total loss.

I'm pretty open minded to all kinds of films, but Scooby Doo goes nowhere fast. The movie is just plain dreadful.
