Animated feature Shrek received three nods, including the best comedic performance for Eddie Murphy, who supplied the voice for Shrek's sidekick the donkey.

Moulin Rouge won three nominations for Nicole Kidman - for best female performance, best musical sequence and best kiss, for Kidman and Ewan McGregor.

Ren�e Zellwegger and Colin Firth are also up for best kiss in Bridget Jones's Diary.

And Daniel Radcliffe's performance in the Harry Potter film was nominated for best male breakthrough performance.

Slick crime movie Ocean's Eleven is nominated for having the best on-screen team, which included George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Elliott Gould and Brad Pitt.
