| Thursday, 2 May, 2002, 16:34 GMT 17:34 UK Olivier's jubilee tribute ![]() Lord Olivier: One of history's greatest actors Channel 5 is to screen a special documentary narrated by the late British actor Lord Laurence Olivier in celebration of the Queen's Golden Jubilee. The programme, called A Queen is Crowned, has not been shown in full since the Queen's coronation 50 years ago. It features historic footage of the ceremony at Westminster Abbey on 2 June in 1953. Channel 5's senior controller of news and current affairs, Chris Shaw, said: "This classic documentary is the perfect way to mark the Golden Jubilee." Sir Laurence, who died in 1989 at the age of 82, is considered one of history's greatest actors. He had a career spanning more than 50 years in theatre, film and TV, in the UK and Hollywood. His voiceover on the documentary is combined with music by Sir Malcolm Sargeant and readings of Shakespeare poetry. Discussion Mr Shaw added: "You won't see a more stirring tribute, or a more British celebration, than this." The channel's other upcoming jubilee programmes will include a comparison between a contemporary jubilee street party and one 25 years ago. The channel's 5 News programme will be looking back at the Queen's five-decade reign. Morning discussion show The Wright Stuff will mark the anniversary with a series of debates encouraging reaction to the jubilee. In February, the channel screened Coronation Britain.
